I was out for most of the evening and just picked up on the fact that Akismet was having issues when I came back in. All makes sense now.

Thanks!

Re: Bad Behavior

Hi. I'm the author of Bad Behavior, and I also worked on the Akismet WordPress plugin.

Akismet will only put comments into moderation if the back-end server is temporarily unavailable for some reason. (This doesn't happen all too often, but it happens to every site sooner or later. After all, it's just hardware.) If this happens, all comments go into moderation, whether spammy or not, until the Akismet server is available again.

That said, I also run both Bad Behavior and Akismet at my site, and while Akismet has caught about 3,000 spams since I've installed it, Bad Behavior has caught about 150,000, before they ever became an issue for Akismet (or anything else) to deal with.

If you're using Bad Behavior, I also suggest you subscribe to the RSS feed or the mailing list (which contains the same thing as the feed, but in your email box).

Re: Bad Behavior

I just use Bad Behavior with Spam Karma and I get maybe one in moderation a week. I'm sure you'll like it. :)

Re: Bad Behavior

akismet is amazing. I don't think I've ever had a legit comment get caught, and only very rarely does a spam get through

Re: Bad Behavior

Gawd I hate spam...I don't think you'll have any problem with Bad Behavior -- I've been using it along side Spam Karma 2 for some time now, and I've never had anyone complain that they were being blocked, so I think you'll be OK.

Good luck though!
