Technosailor: Let’s do some Bible math

  • Sphagnum · 3 years ago
I found it interesting! Always do...

But curious, why the NFL banner for this post? Is that a catagory banner and doesn't really have anything to do with the topic at hand?
  • Jesse · 3 years ago
Hi Sphagnum. In case you didn't notice, this post was written by me, Jesse, and not Aaron. I'm one of the people who write guest entries every now and then. He's been having trouble lately because one of his guests would write something and then people would think it was him. Because of this there is now a gravatar by each post. If it is by Aaron you'll see his gravatar, a picture of aaron looking smashing in a nice looking suite. If I posted it you'll see my gravatar, the NFL image you see right now.
  • Sphagnum · 3 years ago
Ah, I get it. I didn't see the coorelation between the author and the picture. Sorry :-O

Still, good post. And good name! (my real name is Aaron too)
  • Sphagnum · 3 years ago
!!!! You're Jesse, not Aaron... Geez, I'm a retard sometimes....

In terms of who was alive, and when, it's very interesting. Genesis is great because there are stories in cultures around the world that say much of the same thing... Personally, I think the Bible is taken far too literally. However, one thing is obvious - at some point in human history there was a worldwide catastrophe that displaced or effected most everyone. This would explain why so many cultures around the world share so many similarities in their beginnings, including sories of a single major disaster. There are several books that address the subject in great detail - most notably by Graham Hancock, author of "Figerprints of the Gods"... It's a great read if you're really serious about the topic of pre-history, and he goes into incredible detail. But like any research, you have to remain objective.

Your chronology is correct...please note that Methuselah was caught up with the Lord just prior to the flood...see in Genesis as well. He was the only human ever to have gone to heaven without an earthly death (if you will). So, he did not die in the flood but just prior to it as he was favored by God.
  • Aaron · 3 years ago
    Rob, you're incorrect.

Enoch did not die an earthly death (also Elijah was taken up to heaven in a chariot). Methuselah lived 969 years and the Bible says he died. The Bible says that Enoch walked with God and then he was no more because God took him. Genesis 5:21-27`

21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. 22 And after he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived 365 years. 24 Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.

25 When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech. 26 And after he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters. 27 Altogether, Methuselah lived 969 years, and then he died.

Methuselah's death at the time of the flood was not a coincidence but it was actually predicted at the time of his birth. What you found by accident by doing your maths was known throughout Methuselah's life..that a judgement would come upon the earth when he died. His father Enoch walked closely with God..so much so that he progressed from this world to the next without physical death (Genesis 5 v24). God must have inspired or directly told Enoch to give his son the name Methuselah because it basically meant 'Sin has become so great on the earth that upon the death of this child judgement will come'. That can be gleaned from a study of the Hebrew. I'm not a Hebrew scholar myself but I heard it in a sermon about ten years ago about this very sunbject and I never forgot it. Nobody would name their child as such otherwise. And yes, that would have caused Enoch to walk very close to God during the rest of his life on earth! It is because of God's grace that no-one lived longer than Methuselah in the Bible. And yes, when he died, judgement came in the form of a flood, because at that time as the Bible describes, 'the thoughts of mens' hearts were only evil all of the time'. So it wasn't 'unlikely' that Methuselah died as the flood began, it was a sure fire thing, being as it had long been divinely prophesied. I hope this throws light upon this great question!

Fascinating. I've always liked studying stuff like this, but I usually have to hear a sermon or something, as I've never taken the initiative myself to do some research on hebrew orwhatever

    Hello,
I've just posted my first Bible Math lecture. It is titled, "Bible Math: The 9-Day Multiplier and Cumulative Effects." Please visit www.pbwmodel.com, click on the Lectures link, then the Bible Math link to be taken to the Bible Math Web Page. I will be posting further Bible Math lectures soon. For the fellow who studied Genesis Chapter 5, kindly peek at my paper titled, The Christ Model. It shows one aspect of how the scripture writers encrypted the Genesis Chapter 5 numerical references as part of the (subjective: objective) equilibratory alignment transition scheme. Comments and criticisms are welcome. D. Randall Jenkins, Ph.D.

    Hello,
I've just posted my second Bible Math lecture. it is titled, "Bible Math: The Conversion of Water into Wine -- The Gospel of John, Chapter Two." This Bible Math lecture explains that the conversion of water into wine algorithmic processes foretell the Christ function. Please visit www.pbwmodel.com, click on the Lectures link, then the Bible Math link to be taken to the Bible Math Web Page. Comments and criticisms are welcome. Please visit my curriculum vitae web site, www.randall-cv.net, to learn more about me. D. Randall Jenkins, Ph.D.

    Hello,
My third Bible Math Lecture titled, 666, will be posted by June 6, 2006. WARNING!!! If you grasp the lecture the fun of scary movies will be diluted. So study the Bible Lecture at your own risk. This Bible Math Lecture will explain several matters in relation to scripture and, particularly, the Book of Revelation. It explains Satan or the Antichrist is a metaphor for the scripture writers' "Efficient Recalcitrance Assumption," and 666 is a numerical reference for the 13-Step ERA process that characterizes the undoing of the second Star of David in a set of two hierarchically structured and interrelated Stars of David. Such a set of Stars of David define ordered objective equilibratory alignment. The lecture also explains "Jesus" is a metaphorical reference for unordered objective equilibratory alignment that explains the formation of a single Star of David out of two equilateral triangles; the "Christ" is a metaphor for a set of two Stars of David and the transition from one to the other in ordered objective equilibratory alignment; and the Antichrist is a metaphor for the ERA. Mark it on your calendars now -- June 6, 2006 -- and come read the lecture and watch the video on www.pbwmodel.com, Lectures, Bible Math. Comments, questions and criticisms are welcome. Very truly yours, D. Randall Jenkins, Ph.D.

Now that is what I call aggressive self-promo
  • D. Randall Jenkins, Ph.D. · 3 years ago
    Jesse,

Actually, I've been sitting on my 666 analysis for a few years. I watched a promo for the upcoming Damien movie in the theatre last week and it gave me the idea to publish my 666 analysis by June 6, 2006. In order for you to understand the forthcoming 666 analysis please read the papers on ordered and ordered model processes that may be found on PBW Model.Com. The first is titled, Ordered Conflict Resolution. It deals with unordered model processes. The second is titled, Ordered Model Processes, Reference Declaration and the Economic Organization: Implications for a Balanced Scorecard Contextual Framework. It addresses the ordered model processes which leads to Star of David formation. Be advised my next Bible Math Lecture will share the evidence adduced to date regarding Numbers Chapters 1, 2 and 26 Twelve Tribe Position and Census change explanations. The evidence supports my arguments such twelve tribe reports are model driven and are not reports of historical fact; and, that scripture is an emcrypted social choice theory model. Your further comments and criticisms are welcome and appreciated. D. Randall Jenkins, Ph.D.

    My birthday is June 6th!

I think if enough people believe the world is going to descend into chaos and end soon - it probably will. The masses frighten me more than any Bible prediction ever would.
  • Aaron · 3 years ago
This is an interesting discussion. Thanks for bringing the topic up, Jesse. And thank you for your valuable contributions Dr. Jenkins. It's very interesting reading.

I have some posts for the Not So Free State but my host went pear-shaped over the weekend and I'm trying to get that site back online. When it comes back online, I have a stack of stories to write about that will be sure to cement some peoples views that I'm an extremist right wing nut, but as a Christian I see some dire omens concerning government, privacy and the mark of the beast. Hoefully the server will become more orange-shaped soon so I can get that blog back online.

It seems interesting to me that the people who believe in the book of Revelation are the same people who are most accepting of government intrusion on privacy and the growth of corporate power (one world system). I say that because it is conservatives who tend to turn a blind eye as long as they think their faith and 'values' are adequately represented.

Now that the writing is on the wall, it's funny that people are angry about what they sat back and allowed to happen, or even voted for. I don't care what religion you adhere to whether you're in Iran or here in the U.S....Voting for people who proclaim their faith is what guides them is asking for trouble.
  • Aaron · 3 years ago
Nah, I don't buy into that, A.J. It's been a long time in coming across many administrations that proclaim different faiths along the way. I think Biblical prophecy is above whatever we do or say here. I don't think it's reasonable, if you take the Bible at its face (and if you don't then that's fine, it just means there's not a common basis for approaching the issue), to think that if people voted differently based on any number of other grounds, that the outcome would be any different in the global spiritual sense. The tendency of fallen man is different than the tendency of an omnipotent God and the tendency will always be toward more control. It is human nature to do so and it presents itself on a macro-scale when discussing governments of men. Governments will always tend toward more control over time as has been shown throughout history. Rome the Republic became Rome the Empire until it was overthrown. The Jewish people, freed from captivity through the intervention of an all powerful God followed Him until they decided they wanted kings and then the kings became more decadent and the Jewish nation was taken into captivity ultimately.

In the same way, the U.S., regardless of the administratio in power or their proclaimed affiliation, becomes increasingly power-hungry (whether intentionally or not).

More to come when TNSFS gets back online.

The human race has risen from disaster many times. If a plague was wiping out 1/3 of the known population like it did in the Middle Ages, I imagine everyone would think that is the end of the world...I'm sure many at the time did. WWII was is a recent reminder of how easily the world can hang in the balance in the midst of global crisis.

I've said before that we are descendants of an intense religious stranglehold on Europe that last for centuries. They used the fear of God to control people. The church may not be in control anymore, but most people still fear God, or whatever force the word 'God' describes. The Bible says God created man in his own image...People take that quite literally but what if it means that the human race, including all of nature, are simply manifestations of God, the 'good' and 'bad' all combined?? Therefore, instead of saying that things are out of our control, perhaps God is simply working thru all of us and we do have the power and the will to make this world whatever we want it to be.

The reason we feel so lost and afraid is because we've voluntarily seperated ourselves from God, instead of believing that we are all a part of God experiencing life.

    Greetings,

I finished a day ahead of schedule. Please visit www.pbwmodel.com, Lectures link, Bible Math link, Bible Math Lecture #003: 666, the Antichrist and Satan. There is a written lecture summary and Windows Media Player power point video lecture. Your comments and criticisms are welcome. Again, I urge you to first read Ordered Conflict Resolution and Ordered Model Processes, Reference Declaration and the Economic Organization: Implications for a Balanced Scorecard Contextual Framework and Bible Math Lectures #001 and #002. You will need to understand the idea of ordered and unordered model processes and what is the composition of a Star of David. The 666, the Antichrist and Satan lecture explains the undoing of the succeeding Star of David in ordered objective equilibratory alignment and why the scripture writers' impose this assumption on their social choice theory model operation. Very truly yours, D. Randall Jenkins, Ph.D.
